Books3
A file of about 197,000 books, scraped from a pirate tracker, that a researcher assembled in 2020 so that open models could train on the same kind of data as the closed ones. It became part of a public dataset, then of several companies' training sets, then of lawsuits. A Danish rights group had it taken down in August 2023, and a magazine's search tool let authors find their own names in it the same month.
