A British browser world in which children adopted a monster, solved daily puzzles and collected small creatures called Moshlings. The record's entry for the UK's biggest children's craze of its decade: by 2011 it had tens of millions of registered users, a best-selling magazine, a number-one album and trading cards in every newsagent, and it was closed in December 2019 when Flash ended.

A collecting game in which monsters on islands each sing a part of a song, and the song grows as more are bred. The record's entry for the late revival: it was a modest hit in 2013, then in late 2022 a TikTok wave built around a boxy monster called the Wubbox sent a ten-year-old game back to the top of the download charts and made its songs a meme in their own right.

Lady Gaga's fandom, the Little Monsters, named during the Monster Ball tour of 2009–2011 and organised on Gaga's own social network, LittleMonsters.com, in 2012 — the first pop fandom with a name, a hand sign (the 'paws up') and a mother. The record notes they were the model every later fan base copied and that they are, by 2026, mostly in their thirties with mortgages and the old claws.
