● Alive n. 5 yrs & counting Degen & memecoins

100x

The promised multiple. A hundred-times return is the standard unit of memecoin hope, quoted before a coin launches and never after, and its escalated form, 1000x, is used by callers who know a hundred is no longer exciting. The number describes what the caller wants to happen, not what has happened, and everyone using the term knows this.

A Telegram pinned message in 2024: 'next 1000x, don't fade'. The coin in question, per the record's tracker, did around 4x and then went to zero. Nobody in the channel mentioned the arithmetic again.

Definition @kick_convert · Poster 30 Jan 2023

Used as a noun ('a 100x'), a verb ('this will 100x') and a credential ('caught three 100x this year'). The record notes that a claimed 100x is unverifiable and an actual 100x was usually sold at 3x.

Correction @mod_asleep · Archivist 25 Nov 2021

The record should be fair: 100x returns did happen, many times, in 2021 and 2024. They happened to wallets that bought before anyone posted the number, which is why the number is always posted afterwards.

Memory @ff7disc2 · Digger 17 Aug 2021

I saw one real 100x from launch, in 2021, and I sold it at double. That is the standard biography of everyone who says the word out loud.
