Rabbit Hole (Deco*27)

Logged on a school bus: two people arguing about whether the song or the animation came first, both certain, neither correct, both eventually looking it up on one phone.

Definition @bricked_pixel · Archivist 15 Mar 2024

Vocaloid works by layers: an original track, then fan animations, then memes made of the animations. The layer that travels is rarely the one that was released first.

The animation everyone shares is not the official video. It is a derivative work by another creator, and the year people give for the song is usually the year they saw that animation instead.
