1v1 Me

The challenge to a duel, issued over Xbox Live in the late 2000s by anyone who had just lost, and by 2013–14 a meme ('1v1 me bro, Rust, quickscopes only') about the twelve-year-old who issued it. The record's entry for the honour code of a generation that settled everything in a private match and nothing at all.

Definition by contrast: 1v1 Me is not the older thing it gets compared to. The older thing needed context; 1v1 Me was the context.

Correction @caps_lock_carl · Poster disputed 26 Sep 2017

Correction to the headnote: 1v1 Me was not coined, it was noticed. Someone said it, someone else screenshotted it, and the screenshot is the coinage.

Sighting @kym_lurker · Archivist 30 Jul 2016

'1v1 me' said in a 2014 office over a spreadsheet dispute by a man of thirty who did not, when the record checked, own an Xbox any more.
