STOOPID

A single whose accompanying dance became a TikTok challenge and whose audio ended up under a large volume of unrelated memes. The record's entry for a track that spent more time as a sound than as a song.

Sighting @rto_refusenik · Poster 28 Dec 2023

Filed from a secondary school car park in 2018: four people doing the steps for a phone propped on a bag, then all four checking the footage, then all four doing it again.

Obituary @quiet_luxury_q · Lurker 13 Jul 2023

Died in 2019 the way TikTok dances die, which is quietly and by replacement. Nobody announced it. The sound simply stopped appearing and the next one started.

Definition @linkedin_lunatic · Poster 23 Jun 2020

A dance challenge and a meme audio are not the same object. This one was both at once, which is rare, and it meant the song outlived any given video using it by about a fortnight.
