Snapchat's map, launched June 2017, on which your Bitmoji stands wherever your phone is, visible to every friend unless you turn on 'Ghost Mode', which every parent article of that summer told you to do. The record's entry for the feature that made 'where are you' unnecessary and 'why were you at his house' possible.
'I saw on Snap Map that you were at the mall and didn't tell me', a reader reports hearing in 2018, as an accusation. The record notes Ghost Mode was turned on that evening.
Minor, but the record should note that Snap Map predates the date most people give it. I have a post from June 2017 and I suspect there are earlier ones. Correcting the born field is above my pay grade.
There was a version of Snap Map that went round my family group chat about a month late, presented as new. I did not correct anyone. It was, for them, new, and that has to count for something.
