Born 1997, dead 2000, 3 yrs in all. The interesting thing about SixDegrees is not that it died but that it died completely — no ironic afterlife, no revival, no merch. That is rarer than it sounds.
I was a lurker for most of the 1990s and SixDegrees is one of the few things I remember posting about. Two lines. Somebody replied. That was enough to keep me around for another decade.
For the record — a railway platform departures board, overridden by staff, seen 22 February. SixDegrees in a headline. A sub-editor did this on purpose and I would like their name for the record.
