The record notes the distinction old hands insisted on — a newbie is new, a noob refuses to learn — and that it was never once respected in practice.
Correction: the 'Roblox noob' — yellow head, blue shirt, green trousers — is not an insult but the platform's old default avatar, and is regarded by veterans with something close to affection.
I saved a screenshot of the first Noob post I saw. Looking at it now, the joke is entirely in the timing. The timing does not survive the screenshot.
The record notes the word is now used most by six-year-olds on Roblox, a platform on which every player was a noob quite recently.
