I’m positive that utilising the Task Manager to kill particular processes in fact restores some speed to my now and then slow MyTouch 3G original. But only because I kill each and things appear cleaner doesn’t mean I haven’t done something superfluous for many of the processes killed. It may have been a single app that was inducing the trouble. Kondik’s argument on twitter (and I would suppose that his voice is the voice of somebody, just like google engineers, who has some groundwork in fact and technology for what he’s saying) was that, not defying a rogue application misbehaving, exercise of the Task Manager to kill all apps was a placebo.
