The Korean War refers to a period of military conflict between North Korea and South Korea regimes, with major hostilities beginning on June 25, 1950, pausing with an armistice signed on July 27, 1953, and resuming when North Korea withdrew from the armistice on May 27, 2009 and declared that “the Korean peninsula will go back to a state of war.”
