So yesterday, I was trying to catch the last metro after a night out in montreal. (Metro closes at 1:35 so you catch the last one otherwise you have to take a taxi). So me and my best friends, one of which is his birthday, go down the stairs in a hurry as we see the metro.

We were all pretty drunk, enough to decide, me and one of my friend, to hold of the metro doors 10 sec for my friend, who is celebrating his birthday, could enter. I am conscious this is a crime, I should of had a ticket for that and I would of paid it happily for my drunk stupidity.

But that did not happen, we got pushed out by a gang of bums that were saying they had to go and didnt give a fuck to wait 10 sec. Okay. Then all we see is around 12 police officers, grabbing my friend and I, throwing me agaisnt a wall, screaming to stop resisting while he hits me with his baton. At one point he puts the baton in my mouth, and says : tu regrettes ca enh mon criss. Which basically means : You regret that now dont you. At this point I am freaked out as fuck. I take hold of the baton he is pushing in my mouth out of reflex, as it his hurting as fuck in the back of my throat. He then starts screaming to let go of his baton and full out punches me in the face repetitively.

At this point my face is all in blood. Another officer intervenes, takes me up and handcuffs me. Only because people on the other side of the track started filming. I still do not understand anything I did to deserve such. My friend during that time is pushed out of view of me and tries to film as everybody in the metro but they put me in a corner and circle me.

Now they speak a bit(police), I dont even remember as my ears were ringing, I had no idea what to do, I always saw people who got arrested as bums or simply fucked up. So now I yell to me friend to get away from there, to run before they catch him, so he does trying to film the most of it. They bring me up outside the station, put me in a police car, then I get out my phone, while handcuffed in my back (not so easy) and I try to put on the camera quickly and put it back in my pocket, to get the sound and conversation.

Now the first police officer who beat me up turns around in the car window and sees it...the guy goes ape shit. Gets out, opens my door, pushes my face on the window, starts giving me numerous punches in the ribs, stomach, says shit like : (translated) youre not finished with me, ill be your nightmare for still awhile now, and : youre lucky i am in my uniform tonight cause in civil i would of beaten the crap out of you even more you "ptit enfoire detudiant" At this point Im like what. the. fuck. drunk enough for the punches not to hurt so much. I realize he is going full bat shit on me because I am wearing my red square, a symbol used to show your support of the students cause which is agaisnt the tuition fees hike. He takes his two fingers and forces on my throat with them simply to hurt me, its a horrible feeling. After this his partner has to stop him again, goes in the car, asks police officers around for all the charges he can charge me, and says shit like: yeah tell me anything I can charge this little fucker. Hands me ticket worth for 500$ of fees, and just gets me out of the car, gives me my shits back (thank god)(phone, wallet etc) and leaves. simple like that.

Now Reddit...I ask on you simply to help me do something that will actually change something. I will go through anything. And honestly, I want the police officer who did this to lose his job. EDIT: Ok so I understand people find this is a one-sided story, and I must agree. I am not in a state to be impartial on this matter, but I still want to know the best way to get to court and have a correct decision on the case.

I pulled into my driveway and there was a baby raccoon. He was crawling toward me only using his hearing to see where I was. It is blind. So I'm just thinking, is it blind because it's just days old or is it some blind runt. Either way, where the fuck is the mother? I've wrapped it in a towel and put some milk in a small tray in front of it. It looks super weak and the flys are starting to swarm it. I feel really bad, but what the fuck do I do? Do I just let it die in my front lawn? Or should I put it in the old dog crate in the garage and raise it to be a little badass blind ninja raccoon?

I've traveled around the US pretty extensively, in big cities, small towns, and everything in between. I've been through the southwestern states, as well. But I've never...not once...seen any kind of Native American restaurant.

Is it that they don't have traditional recipes or dishes? Is it that those they do have do not translate well into meals a restaurant would serve?

In short, what's the primary reason for the scarcity of Native American restaurants?

For me, this was steel-toed boots. Im only 16, so I cant work in a machine shop or anywhere that would really require this kind of footwear. Some years ago, for our vacation, my father, his girlfriend and I drove about 1000 km to visit my sister, who lives in a very remote area.

Both my sister and my father's girlfriend smoke like chimneys.

I cannot stand cigarette smoke, I go up the wall.

So, both my sister and my father's girlfriend would smoke up all the time, and I had to stay in a separate room all the time in order not to be asphixiated.

Just a random thought, the legality of porn vs the illegality of prostitution has confused me for a while.

So here's the full story. I had just gotten out of a movie in Atlanta last night, and I was driving back to my dorm (Georgia Tech student). While I was stopped at one of the many traffic lights lining the streets, I rolled my window down to enjoy the warm air. On the sidewalk was a man and a women, holding hands, obviously a couple. Then, the dude just stopped in his tracks, pulled out a gun from his jacket pocket, and showed it to this terrified girl. The girl started shaking and trying to calm the obviously angered man by putting her hand on his back and speaking to him softly. The man takes his gun, and smashes it full force against her face. But that wasn't all. As she's lying on the dirty sidewalk, with blood pouring down her face the man screams "STOP CRYING YOU FILTHY CUNT. GET UP!" The light turned green and I zoomed out of there, whilst calling the police. That's my story, Reddit, what's the most horrible thing you've ever seen one person do to another?

This girl has been terrorising the whole flat (myself and 2 other people) and we need her go. But do we have a leg to stand on, legally? If not, what can we do?

In short she has:

• been verbally bullying all of us

• had terrifying extreme screaming, crying, banging-her-fists episodes over nothing, it's unlike like anything I've ever seen

• tried (and succeeded, at times) to manipulate us into turning against eachother by flat-out lying and making up things we've said

• constantly and deliberately created arguments

We've had huge arguments with her before and tried to talk it out but ultimately given up and just been civil because she is actually incapable of empathising to a sociopathic degree and refused to apologise for anything, seeing herself as the victim. However, after yet another fight with her a few weeks ago, all three of us have stopped talking to her unless absolutely necessary. She now resentfully crashes round the house (and comes in from work slamming all the doors at 2am, when we are all studying for our finals - she's four years older than us but she's in a lower year and does not have any exams or essays) and generally forces her presence on us, even though when she comes in there is total silence.

The tension in the house is absolutely unbearable.

Our lease runs until the end of June, but we had all agreed several months ago (before we realised she's bat-shit insane) to renew the lease and stay another year. We'll suffer her til the end of June, but we can't have her renew the lease and stay. We know she wants to stay, mainly out of stubborness, but also because the flat is gorgeous and it's harder to find a place to rent than it is to find flatmates to fill the rooms.

Legally, I don't know what we can do, as she hasn't physically attacked any of us or done anything illegal except smoke weed, which the rest of us have also done (although don't at the moment).

We haven't yet talked to our landlord - I don't think he'll want to get involved and he'll say it's us who have to decide. However, if he did I might have a slight advantage in that I've been renting my room for three years now, unlike her who moved in in September, and I get on well with the landlord. He always deals with me when something in the flat needs doing.

By the way, we live in the UK. And also, doing petty things like breaking her stuff would only make her more determined, and anyway we wouldn't want to do that.

TL;DR Flatmate is crazy but not physically abusive, what can we do to make her leave?

(First time poster, long time lurker...be gentle with me!) So, yeah. Over the past 5+ years I've noticed I have kept less and less cash on me simply because using my debit/credit card is easier and that way I always have "exact change" so to speak. On the flip side of that, I have a heart for the homeless and whenever I do have a buck or so on me I like to help out a little bit and give it to someone who obviously needs it more than I do. With the recent bust in the American economy as of late, I've encountered more and more homeless/jobless and have had nothing to give simply because I don't have it on me. I can very easily see us as a society going completely cashless one day and I can't help but wonder what will happen to our less fortunate brothers and sisters?

I am in no way advocating violence against animals, and this is in no way a pilot study for my evil zoo-keeper schemes, i'm just trying to avoid doing my essay.
Edit: Room is as big as it need to be, nothing explicitly weapon-like (All knives would be taken off you, there's nothing in the room, so no improvised spears or clubs. Knowing how to fight with your credit cards or keys would be useful as the zoo-keeper does not count on key Karate)

Do they get dentists to visit them if people taking care notice some dental problem?

I moved to the UK a while back and was surprised to see that they don't refrigerate their eggs here. They taste the same, and don't seem to expire any more quickly than the eggs at home.

Is there some sort of difference or do North Americans just arbitrarily refrigerate eggs?

Edit: I realise lots of people put their eggs in the fridge when they get home, but I've never seen them being sold refrigerated in supermarkets.

A few months ago, one of my good friends needed a date for her sorority formal to get points towards housing the next year (going to sorority events gives you points, apparently). She didn't have any friends there at this point, so to save her from being alone, I agreed.

But then, I remembered: it was a formal and my suit was a hundred miles away. So I took a bus ride 3 hours to my home town, walked for an hour in a blizzard to get home, got my suit, then walked back to the bus stop, waited for the bus, and rode the 3 hours back. I got back around 1 am, and had to get up at 6 the next morning. I devoted my entire Thursday to getting a fucking suit.

The formal sucked, but at least she enjoyed it. Oh the things you do for women... She still doesn't know what I did to get that suit...

Flashback to a month ago, I'm sitting in class (high school) and this girl sits next to me. I've talked to her before and never really payed much attention to her, but now we are really getting along. We have many things in common and all that. I was a little naive at first then started noticing she would scoot up real close and start rubbing her foot against my leg and staring at me. She also starts mentioning how she wishes she had a boyfriend to do romantic stuff, I take this as a hint. My friends notice tell me I should ask her out, so I do. Her reply "Oh I'm sorry I just want to be friends and we could never be together." Naturally I'm bummed out, and we stop talking all together. Two days ago she starts texting me telling me how much she likes me and somehow she admits to having herpes from being raped by her uncle a few years back. She then says she'd like to go out with me but doesn't want to get me infected. I know I'm in highschool and this won't matter in two years, but I really like this girl. Anyone have a SO with an STD, how do you deal with it?
